As Tribal Chic celebrated its landmark 15th anniversary this past weekend, the conversation at the Tribe Hotel shifted from the aesthetic to the atmospheric. For Noortribe, the evening was more than a runway showcase; it was a definitive statement on the future of African luxury and its place on the global stage.
Our interpretation was a deep dive into grounding materiality. We invited our guests to experience organic textures and sculpted silhouettes that draw directly from the Kenyan landscape. Every piece in the collection serves as a map of our heritage:
The Hues: Hand-dyed tones echoing the burnt earth of Kajiado.
The Textures: Deep greens reflecting the lush canopy of the Aberdare Forest.
The Craft: Pokomo handwoven raffia from the Tana River, seamlessly integrated into modern, high-design silhouettes.
A highlight of the evening was the presence of His Excellency Vincenzo Del Monaco, the Ambassador of Italy to Kenya. His participation underscored a powerful reality that Noortribe has long championed—that fashion is a serious tool for cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.
“Italy believes strongly in partnerships that empower local innovation,” stated Ambassador Del Monaco. “The creative industries offer a powerful landscape for economic development and cultural dialogue, creating a shared future for Italy and Kenya.”
For our founder, Guia Martinotti, the Ambassador’s presence validates the brand’s mission to position African sustainable luxury as a global benchmark. “Our interpretation of ‘Earth’ is a return to fundamental values,” she noted. “We are proving that African brands can lead in responsible production while meeting the highest global luxury standards.”
As the global fashion industry moves toward a more ethical and transparent future, Noortribe is proud to be a leading actor in that dialogue. By combining international cooperation, environmental stewardship, and the preservation of ancestral craftsmanship, we are setting the blueprint for the coming decade.
The “Earth” collection is a reminder that when we respect our origins, we create something of permanent value.
